envenuto to the Italian language courses at IFLAC which has been designed by Mrs. Sandy Mirpuri, Director of IFLAC and alumnus of the prestigious John Cabot University, Rome. The courses are offered at several levels for those who have no knowledge of Italian to those looking to perfect their Italian.
At IFLAC, the regular Italian language courses are offered as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching and Assessment, abbreviated as CEFR.
Livello 1 – Diploma Principianti A1
Designed for complete beginners, the level one of the Italian Language program introduces the student to the beauty of what many people say is the most beautiful language in the world. The main emphasis in this level is to familiarize the student with the phonetics of the language and the basic structure of the grammar. Students will learn Italian in a pleasant and relaxing environment, accompanied by a wide variety of audio and interactive exercises. The length of the course is 60 hours.
Course Objective
After the completion of this course you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
On completion of this level you will be able to:

Introduce yourself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know and things you have etc
describe with the aid of simple means your own background and education and your immediate environment and needs
Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help
This level continues to develop the skills of understanding and speaking Italian. It introduces the language for everyday purposes such as asking for and giving simple information, buying clothes, ordering food, etc. To provide a framework for such communication it builds on the basic grammar taught in the previous level. This course is completed over duration of 60 hours.
Prerequisites for Enrollment
Students should have completed Diploma Principianti A1 or otherwise acquired a similar level of proficiency.
Course Objectives
On completion of this level you will be able to:
Learn more vocabulary that takes into account expressing likes and dislikes, give brief reasons and explanations, understanding questions and instructions
Write short letters and emails about simple topics like introducing oneself, invitations and give personal views and opinions
Improve basic conversation skills and understand audio texts better
Students should have completed Certificato Fondamentale A2.1. Students coming from external language schools will have to undertake a test before they can join this level.
Course Objectives
On completion of this level you will be able to:
Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Write short essays on everyday topics and their. Make a travel brochure and write a recipe.
Knowing Italian is greatly beneficial in several career fields like electro mechanical machinery, ship building, construction machinery, transport equipment, machine tool manufacturing and robotics.
